Motor Presse Stuttgart startet 2026 eine neue Motorsport-Serie für Superbike, Supersport und Sportbike
Mit der Einführung der EURO MOTO erweitert die Motor Presse Stuttgart ab 2026 ihr Motorsport-Portfolio. Aufbauend auf der erfolgreichen Entwicklung der Internationalen Deutschen Motorradmeisterschaft (IDM) stellt EURO MOTO den konsequenten nächsten Schritt zur Weiterentwicklung des europäischen Rundstreckenrennsports in den Klassen Superbike, Supersport und Sportbike dar. Ziel der neuen Plattform ist es, ein internationaleres Starterfeld zu gewinnen, die Sichtbarkeit in den relevanten Märkten zu erhöhen und noch spannendere und hochklassigere Rennen zu bieten.
Die IDM hat sich in den vergangenen Jahren zu einer sportlich und organisatorisch führenden Meisterschaft entwickelt. Das Niveau in den Klassen Superbike, Supersport und Sportbike liegt auf internationalem Top-Level.
„Die IDM hat gezeigt, dass sie ein Sprungbrett für Talente mit WM-Ambitionen ist“, sagt Serienmanager und Initiator Normann Broy. „Mit der EURO MOTO schließen wir die Lücke zwischen den nationalen Meisterschaften und der Weltmeisterschaft. Wir schaffen eine Plattform, auf der die besten Fahrer und Teams aus der ganzen Welt gegeneinander antreten.“ Mit diesem Schritt will die Motor Presse Stuttgart die Internationalität der Starterfelder, die mediale Sichtbarkeit und die Zuschauerattraktivität weiter vorantreiben. Der erste Lauf zur neuen Meisterschaft startet am 08.-10.05.2026 auf dem Sachsenring.
„Die EURO MOTO wird eine Meisterschaft, die Motorsport erlebbar macht – an der Strecke und über die digitalen Kanäle gleichermaßen“, so Broy weiter. „Durch die Internationalisierung der Serie steigern wir Reichweite und Attraktivität für Teams, Hersteller, Sponsoren und Fans in ganz Europa.“ Diese Weiterentwicklung zu einer noch internationaleren Meisterschaft wird von allen in der IDM engagierten Herstellern begrüßt. Michael Müller, Leiter Geschäftsbereich Zweirad DACH & DK bei Pirelli, sagt dazu: „Das sportliche Niveau im Rahmen der IDM hat sich in den letzten Jahren sehr positiv entwickelt und Pirelli freut sich, diese natürliche Weiterentwicklung im EURO MOTO-Konzept zu unterstützen. Der Kalender für die EURO MOTO und die parallel stattfindende IDM umfasst 2026 sieben Rennwochenenden – mit bewährten Austragungsorten wie dem Sachsenring, Oschersleben, Assen (NL), Most (CZ), Nürburgring und Hockenheimring. Neu hinzu kommt die traditionsreiche WM-Strecke im tschechischen Brünn (Brno). Nicht mehr Teil der Serie ist das Schleizer Dreieck: Die Naturrennstrecke verfügt derzeit über keine internationale FIM-Homologation. Das Reglement der Superbike-Klasse bleibt im Wesentlichen erhalten, bekommt aber punktuelle Feinschliffe. Die Klassen Supersport und Sportbike orientieren sich künftig am WM-Reglement.

for Superbike, Supersport and Sportbike
With the introduction of EURO MOTO, Motor Presse Stuttgart is expanding its motor sporting portfolio from 2026 onwards. Building on the successful development of the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM), EURO MOTO represents the logical next step in advancing European circuit racing across the Superbike, Supersport and Sportbike categories. The new platform aims to attract a more international grid, increase visibility across key markets and deliver even more exciting and competitive racing.
Over the past several years, the IDM has evolved into a leading championship in terms of both sporting quality and organizational standards. The performance levels across the Superbike, Supersport and Sportbike categories have reached a truly international benchmark. “The IDM has proven to be a launchpad for riders with World Championship ambitions,” says Normann Broy, Series Manager and initiator of the project. “With EURO MOTO, we are closing the gap between the national series and the World Championship through the creation of a platform where the best riders and teams from around the world can compete.” Motor Presse Stuttgart aims to drive international competitiveness, enhance media visibility and elevate spectator appeal. The inaugural round of the new Championship is scheduled for May 8–10, 2026 at the Sachsenring (GER).

The 2026 calendar for EURO MOTO and the parallel IDM season features seven race weekends at renowned circuits including the Sachsenring (GER), Oschersleben (GER), Assen (NL), Most (CZ), Nürburgring (GER) and Hockenheimring (GER). Newly added to the schedule is the legendary World Championship circuit in Brno (CZ). The Schleizer Dreieck will no longer be part of the series, as the natural road circuit currently does not hold international FIM homologation, meaning it has not been officially certified to meet the safety and regulatory standards required for international competition. The Superbike regulations will remain largely unchanged, with selective refinements. The Supersport and Sportbike classes will be aligned more closely with World Championship regulations.
